Still Standing, Still Leading: What Great Leaders Practice Every Day
Tuesday June 17, 2025 10:00am - 10:50am CDT
What does it take to keep leading with heart, focus, and fire—day after day? In the demanding world of education, staying grounded, energized, and authentic isn’t just a bonus—it’s necessary. This session allows school leaders to pause, reflect, and realign with what matters most.
We’ll explore six essential qualities that help leaders stay fresh, resilient, and deeply connected to their purpose:
  • Gratitude that shifts perspective,
  • Service-mindedness that inspires trust,
  • Growth mindset that fuels possibility,
  • Clear communication that builds clarity,
  • Creative thinking that opens new doors, and
  • Priority setting that protects your time and energy.
Together, we’ll explore real-world practices—not theories—that will help you lead with intention, navigate challenges with confidence, and show up each day with presence and purpose. Come reset your compass, refill your tank, and remind yourself why your leadership matters.

Building Stronger Schools Through Community Partnerships LIMITED
Tuesday June 17, 2025 10:00am - 10:50am CDT
Schools are being asked to provide high quality education that is relevant, engaging and has real world applications but yet given few resources. This is especially harder in community schools similar to our network. One of the best ways to do that is to create partnerships between schools and local organizations.

In this session, attendees will learn why community partnerships are essential for schools that need the resources the most. Then, they will learn where to begin. How do we know what’s out there? How to reach out to them? What are some strategies to communicate with them? How to create those connections that are sustainable? How to utilize those partnerships to increase student engagement, learning and transform school culture positively.

Students in Seats: How to Market Your School Year-Round and Fill Every Classroom LIMITED
Tuesday June 17, 2025 11:10am - 12:00pm CDT
Want more students in seats next year? Then it’s time to level up your school’s marketing strategy. In this session, we’ll introduce the new Concept Schools Marketing Playbook—a practical, web-based guide built to help every campus in our network take control of local marketing and drive enrollment year-round. Whether you’re new to marketing or just need a better system, this session will show you exactly where to start and how to focus your time and resources for the biggest impact.

We’ll cover how to build an annual marketing plan, what kinds of campaigns work best (and when to run them), and how to use tools like social media, direct mail, events, and advertising to reach the right families. You’ll also learn how to access templates, checklists, and support from the Concept central team to make execution easier.

This session is ideal for anyone involved in recruiting and retaining students. You don’t need a marketing degree—just a willingness to roll up your sleeves and take action.

Implementing Cognia’s Leadership For Learning Standards to Drive Change in schools to High Quality Teaching Model LIMITED
Tuesday June 17, 2025 11:10am - 12:00pm CDT
Shifting school culture from the traditional, teacher-centric model to a student-centric, project-based learning (PBL) approach is one of the most significant challenges educational leaders face.

In this session, educational leaders will learn how to implement project-based learning models across all classrooms using proven best practices that are relevant, timely, job-embedded, and ongoing. Additionally, participants will gain insights into how they can develop their own expertise in this area to better support their school communities.

This session aligns with one of Cognia’s four key characteristics—Leadership for Learning—and addresses standards #7 through #15.

Educational leaders will leave the session inspired and motivated to explore ways to enhance high-quality teaching and learning, as well as overall organizational effectiveness, within their schools.

Are Your Teams Functional or Dysfunctional? How do you know? LIMITED
Wednesday June 18, 2025 11:00am - 12:00pm CDT
Based on the books, The Five Dysfunctions of A Team, by Patrick Lencioni, and John Maxwell's 360 Degree Leader, you will discover powerful leadership practices to become a leader of influence and best practices to grow healthy, high-functioning teams in your school. Are your teams cohesive, or in disarray? Are team meetings active and  productive? Does each team member understand their role? Even the best of teams struggle at times. Building cohesive teams is difficult, but it is not complicated.

Attendees will learn:
  • How to be a leader of influence by leading up - influencing your leader, leading across - leading colleagues and other leaders, and leading down - helping your team grow and be successful.
  • How to overcome a lack of trust among team members.
  • Ways to help a team engage in constructive conflict.
  • How to follow a clear, concise and practical guide to using the five dysfunctions model to improve your team.
  • What to do to achieve the real power of teamwork.

By developing your skills to become a 360 degree leader, you'll open opportunities for growth and development. Communicate the vision and goals for your school in a way that inspires action and focus. You will become a leader that is loved and respected.

Leading Science Learning with Purpose – Empowering Student-Led Inquiry LIMITED
Wednesday June 18, 2025 11:00am - 12:00pm CDT
This presentation explores how to build a school-wide culture where students lead the way in science learning—shifting from passive receivers of information to active investigators. Rooted in research-based instructional design, this session blends inspirational leadership stories with practical strategies to foster classrooms where students drive learning from initial curiosity to evidence-based conclusions. Participants will engage with frameworks that emphasize phenomena-driven instruction, collaborative sensemaking, and iterative problem-solving, aligning with NGSS and STEM best practices.
Leaders and instructional coaches will explore how to support and sustain these shifts using tools such as Danielson-aligned observations, instructional walkthroughs, and collaborative planning structures that promote consistency, rigor, and equity across classrooms. Emphasis is placed on how leadership can cultivate teacher mindsets that center student agency and deeper learning.
Through real-world examples—like student-led investigations, research challenges, and community-based problem solving—participants will leave with both the inspiration and a clear roadmap to lead science instruction with purpose. This 90-minute session equips leaders with actionable techniques to cultivate an inquiry-driven, high-achievement science culture where students confidently take ownership of their learning journey.
