About me
Sheila Crotty-Kagan began her career as a music teacher in Waukegan (IL) Public Schools in January 2003. She completed her masters in educational leadership from Northeastern Illinois University in 2012. At that time, she accepted the position of Enrichment Coordinator with Waukegan Public Schools. In this role, she served as the curriculum and instruction leader of the library and media programs, gifted programs, and elementary fine arts programs. In 2017, Sheila was hired by Community Unit School District 300, based out of Algonquin, IL, to lead the district’s large fine and performing arts programs K-12, originally serving as the Coordinator of Fine and Performing Arts and then later as the Director of Fine and Performing Arts. She has teaching endorsements in music education K-12 and gifted education K-4.
